Safed is the highest city in Israel and the capital of the Galilee. In modern times, the liberation of Safed by the Palmach was one of the most dramatic chapters of the War of Independence.

Rosh Pina was one of the first Jewish villages in the 19th century Galilee. Visit the old houses in the heart of town which have been beautifully preserved with their cobblestone streets. In the center is the old administrative center built in 1885 when Rosh Pina was supported by Baron Rothschild.
