Visit Nazareth, the birthplace of Christianity where according to Christian tradition, the angel Gabriel revealed to Mary that she would conceive by the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus spent his childhood in Nazareth before beginning his public ministry near the Sea of Galilee.

 

The city’s first church - the Church of the Annunciation – was built on the traditional site of Joseph and Mary’s home.

 

The Sea of Galilee played an important role in the early years of Christianity and has become an inspiring pilgrimage site. According to Christian tradition, Jesus lived, preached and performed miracles here and on the nearby Mount of Beatitudes, he delivered his profoundly moving Sermon on the Mount.
